Mr Stuart Fotheringham

I started taking photographs on holiday when I was about five or six years old (I seem to remember). I can't remember the make of camera but it was largely made of plastic and I think I bought it in Boots the Chemist. I wonder if any of those black and white prints are lurking in a loft somewhere? My first "real" camera was an Olympus OM-10 bought with my first salary cheque and I knew I was a "serious" photographer as I splashed out on the optional manual adaptor! (which I rarely used of course).

I now have a Nikon D5200 but that's not important as I believe it's the eye behind the camera that's important.

I recently left my job in a large bank to concentrate on photography and to this end I now have a website and (I hope!) an increasing range of photobooks.

I'm also a keen "blipper" at

My photography is about Colour, Shape, Line and Texture but not necessarily in that order, and the things we see, or don't see, every day

I have joined the RPS to be inspired; to learn how to create "better" images and to find out if anyone else sees what I see in the images I make.

Here's to the journey.
